Hull 1972

Any word on the quality of this download. I want to download it but the lack of song samples makes me skeptical (the "Book of Saturday" HT probably isn't a good representation of the actual sound considering how subdued uncluttered the piece itself is)

The concert is taken from a tape audience bootleg source, so as the tapes are now 35 years old, don't believe in miracles ! :)

But, IMHO, the sound is clearer than the Zoom Club KCCC, you can hear what Muir did and, even there's hiss sometimes, I think the improvisations are more listenables than the one on the Guildford KCCC one.

I think the sound is not better than KCCC 3 but the performance is really one of the best from the Larks Quintet.

Eneryone who claims to be fan of the 1972-1974 should buy this download without any hesitation : it's a must-have ! (I really hope they will do the same thing with the Oxford show : the long improvisation on it is really really good too !)

I am tired of these downloads! What happened to just getting everything on record on CD?

I think DGM has been able to push out many more downloads than they have been able to do CDs before. Output of KCCC CDs has dwindled a little but not diminished completely, from 7 in 2003 to 4 in 2005-2006 per year. On the other hand, there are lots and lots of DGM downloads. So, their output has increased a lot, while CD output really hasn't that much.. or am I mistaken?

Whoops, those were *total* KC CD releases those years.
