Tony Levin

What's an alumni? Is that what silver foil is made of? No, you buffoon - this is where you post about ex-members of the band.

Tony Levin

Tony Levin is the bestest bass player in the world. Very often he plays the stick. What's a stick? Let him explain it for you:

No, that's not right. I thought a stick was what the drummer from Def Leppard used?

(is it me, or are my jokes getting sadder every day?)

Although our Tony is the greatest user of the Chapman Stick, "One thousand years" by our Trey Gunn is the best ever album of all the stick users ("Gordian knot" is not so far...)

What's the problem with this first Trey Gunn solo album ? before joining Crimso in 1993, he recorded this album with the Chapman Stick in every song...It was even one of the first DGM release I think...
The result is awesome really...

I have to agree there - that album took forever to reveal its textures to me, but it's only gotten stronger with age.

Pretty cool video, although it's weird to see Tony without the mustache... I guess that's early-Gabriel era?

The sound of one hand clapping is the same as the sound of a tree falling when no one's around to hear it.

At least he had the good taste not to hire on John Wetton.
