Pat Mastelotto

What's an alumni? Is that what silver foil is made of? No, you buffoon - this is where you post about ex-members of the band.

While you're taking requests, would you mind forwarding those to my gmail account? I do beleive I lost a couple in my hard drive crash last summer.

Maybe I should ask P@ if I can host them here? It would make things easier for me and stop me from being everyone's MP3 monkey... :D

I think this is a pretty recent article in Modern Drummer about Pat's gear. Fascinating on the other hand, on the other hand I understand maybe 75% of it. But Pat always makes a great interview/reading.

Some quotes:

Possibly the biggest drag with doing lots of digital recording is keeping up with data management. I bet I do as much of that as I do drumming. So external hard drives seem to breed like bunnies around here.

I was also just given some Earthworks mics, which have amazing detail—I never heard the downstairs TV in my overheads before!

TUNER album this coming February

TOVAH / TUNER news

Hello,

Pat and Markus play a big role in the production of the record of the debut album of the great female artist TOVAH. Finally, there's a myspace page up with 4 samples from the album 'Escapologist', although it won't be released before 2008 for sure. Please add her and we hope you'll enjoy the music.

TOVAH Myspace

TUNER just completed a very enjoyable tour of Estonia and will play 4 more shows opening for The Flower Kings next week. They will be joined by very special guest Bernhard Woestheinrich (a.k.a The Redundant Rocker).

Pat and Markus will start working on the next TUNER album this coming February.

Take care!

Wow. Last post 2007. Is interest in alumni projects directly proportional to concurrent releases by the band proper? (i.e. can anyone tell me why this section of the board is such a wasteland?) Pat has put out some great stuff since then. Does no one like KTU's Quiver?

Welcome aboard!

We had talked about Quiver and Pat's projects somewhere else, maybe on a new thread, maybe on KTU's thread. For sure he (among others) wasn't forgotten.
