This two disc release didn't impress me too much at first with the setlist, but getting another live performance of "Fracture" pretty much seals the deal. Very interesting 2nd disc for sure.

King Crimson
Live in Zurich
November 15, 1973

For the 1972- 1974 version of King Crimson, developing and writing new material was, as Bill Bruford memorably noted in his autobiography, excruciating, teeth-pullingly difficult music-making.
When The Mincer appeared on Starless & Bible Black it represented a new way of approaching the process for Crimson; taking live improvisations and then editing and over-dubbing new parts to create an interesting hybrid.
In an exclusive interview, Crimson violinist David Cross talks about this approach in the liner notes to this concert.
Although parts of this show recorded at Zurich's Volkhaus on the 15th November 1973 have been previously released on disc 4 of the Great Deceiver box set, this is the first time the entire performance that night has seen the light of day.
Using bootleg sources to restore that section of the gig originally excised to create The Mincer, David Singleton and Alex Mundy have recreated an evening of music which underscores CrimsonÕs reputation as one of the classic must-see live acts of the 70s.

David Cross - violin, mellotron, electric piano
Robert Fripp - guitar, mellotron, electric piano
John Wetton - bass guitar, vocals
Bill Bruford - drums, percussion

As I understand, it is the complete concert and it's something I was waiting for more than 15 years ! :D

Using bootlegs to create a complete show is really what was missing on KCCC Mainz or Heidelberg !

What happened to the March 19th 1974 show that Sid mentionned more than 2 years ago.... :|

I'm pretty pysyched for this one. I wonder how it will sound with the multiple sources. As long as Fracture doesn't cut out, I'm sure it will be a winner.

Does anyone know what the deal is with 41? I ordered 40 & 41 months ago, against my own advice of pre-ordering anything from DGM. Nothing! Plus, they merrily deducted the funds from my checking account a long time ago.

Still listed as a pre-order...

I have no idea what's holding it up.

The delays don't bother me anymore. One thing I've learned from being a Crimson fan is patience.

However, I did learn my lesson on pre-orders a long time ago.

I'm tending to buy them two at a time, after release. Though I must admit I am getting a little fatigued with it all - just carrying on to have a "complete" collection, which is very fucking sad indeed...

I have to agree with you. That's mostly why I bought 40 & 41. Gone are the days of waiting with excitement for the postman to bring that little treasure from DGM, so I could rip it open and place it straight on the player. I guess it's kind of like sex after being married for 20 years...the bloom is off the blossom so to speak.
