Anybody got any added info on this one, I'm thinking about ordering it just for another "Starless" performance? That stinks about an incomplete "Fracture", wonder how much they got?

This is great news. I'll buy it now if it really is a CD issue. It doesn't really say one way or the other. I can't (and won't) purchase a "download". Are they trying to avoid piracy with the downloads? It seems just the opposite to me.....

Wooo...another fractured Fracture. How many is this now? Too many for sure. I'm going to hold off on this one. I'll get it eventually for the improvs, but I'm not in a rush.

I love how they tell you it's a PREORDER, but don't tell you when it's going to be released.

I don't want to try to divine the motivations of DGM but I think there's a couple of reasons they're more focused on download's now than tangible releases.

First, it seems that this is where the market it headed. Like it or not, there is a demand for downloadable music. People's music collections have moved from their bedrooms to their pockets. This is their way of keeping up without giving away most of the profits to the big corporate machine.

Second, I think it actually does more to combat piracy than is immediately obvious. To my knowledge none of the popular peer-to-peer trading sites will allow shows to be traded once they have been "officially" released. Offering these shows through DGMLive is a relatively cost effective way to make them official. This might not be immediately profitable to DGM/Fripp but I actually think that in the long run they can come out ahead if they're smart about it (as long as there is not some drastic policy change in these P2P sites). They will never stop bootlegging/piracy altogether but this is a pretty good way to squelch one of the easiest ways for people currently to trade shows.

But yeah, Rod is right, this is an actual CD release. Go for it.
