6/3/03 First ever Crimson show in Norway:-)

Can you remember your first KC gig or even your last KC gig? We want to hear up those memories here.

6/3/03 First ever Crimson show in Norway:-)

Expectations where high as I travelled away to Bergen to see this show. I discovered KC by bying the "Discipline" album in -81, and I have been hooked ever since.
What can you say?
These guys just blew me away.
This was the first show of the European part of the "...power.." tour.
Was truly worth the trip!
The only thing that let me down was soundproblemes that occorued during "One Time", could it be that the guys lost their monitor or something? Seemed like they could not hear what they were playing, and everything was out of sync.
But as Adrian said from stage, "Welcome to the test run", so I guess it was not that bad.
Also saw them in Copenhagen two days after this event.

Cheers from Norway,

Ove

Let's give a big welcome to Norway! :D

Sounds like it was worth the wait and you were spoilt by TWO shows. Let's hope that the boys can get back on the road and visit Europe again real soon.

He, he, thanks for the warm welcome :D
What I did not say was that the morning after the Copenhagen show, I stumbled and fell down the stairs at the hotel on my way to breakfast.
Arriving home two days after, I still had a very swollen ankle, with all sorts of blueish colors.
2 days after that again, I went for an x-ray.
Result: 3 FraKctures and heavy curgery!
But, It was still worth it :)
My very own FraKctured tour!!!!

Cheers,
Ove

(Who is desperatly looking for live recording of those two shows. They are taped, but have not found anything yet. Please e-mail me if you have them, I'll trade!!!)

Pretty funny story, not that you cracked some bones, but your irony. Just by chance, did they play "FraKctured"? That would have been almost unheard of these days, but just thought I would ask.
Everyone thinks I'm psychotic, except for my friends deep inside the earth.

Nope, they did not. I belive to have read elsewhere that they don't play that track anymore, for some (stupid, to be honest) reason.
The setlist from copenhagen is listed below:

Soundscape
The Power to Believe I:A Cappella
Level Five
The ConstruKction Of Light
Facts Of Life
ProzaKc Blues
Elektrik
Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With
The Power to Believe II
Dangerous Curves
Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part IV
Elephant Talk
Red
The Deception Of The Thrush
Frame By Frame
The World's My Oyster Soup Kitchen Floor Wax Museum

What I forgot to say was that the sound was better then in Bergen, but an awfull lot louder. Best memory from the show is defenetly "Red". It sure was a killer.

Finally, I now see that I made a top posting in this forum. I am sorry about that!

Cheers,

Ove

I'm not sure if it is a crime to make a top posting? Anyone? :)

Lucky you! KC had been over Brazil in their way to Argentina in '94/95, and never played here. More recently Fripp did the same for some GC classes.

Now I'm waiting for G3 shows...
