Of the released performances of Starless (via DGM Live, KCCC, etc), which is your favorite?

MAINZ for sure, it's always been since I heard it. My favorite song from my favorite performance of my favorite band.

The version from USA is pretty cool too, unlike any others. That whole album is like music from another world. Even Crimsons...

It's got to be the one where Fripp doesn't fluff up the reprise of the main melody at the end... :D

Mainz it is for me as well, also agree with the comments about USA, should have made the original LP version a double album.

I didn't see my favorite version listed. That may be the only KC song where I prefer the studio version to live performances.......

I was thinking the same thing just before I voted. The studio version is perfect ! I would have picked that one if it was a choice 8)

I dunno, I think David Cross's violin certianly adds something to the track and I'd preferred him on the studio version over McDonald. All that honking seemed a little retrograde after the installment of the new line-up. Mind you, it was RF's FU to IM, really.

"Here play on this. You can join KC. No you can't, I've just disbanded it. Hahahahaha...that's what you get for breaking up KC69."

Or something like that...
