KTU wow! You guys are in for a treat...Kimmo Pohjonen was better than I thought and the mix was great. They sounded so much better than anything I've heard from them before..

Review? Please? Don't let your muppet-ass get cast away like you're old pirate friend....

I am definitely going to see the 90 minute Chicago set. But I'm still undecided about making the trek to NYC. Many work issues are keeping me. Give me some good reasons to be a bad employee and to make the trek....

The philistines I work with don't seem to take that as a given. At least, they gave me a pretty weird look upon hearing that I'd be flying 700 miles to see somebody throttle an accordion. (Thankfully they at least know me well enough to find that believable, and not just assume it was an excuse to cover up a big drug trip or something.)
The sound of one hand clapping is the same as the sound of a tree falling when no one's around to hear it.

These are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they rather seem to go hand in hand, in a Hunter S. Thompson-esque sort of way.

Boy, we could have some fun with this. Anyone fancy tipping off Homeland Security? Methinks it is time some of you succumbed to a body cavity search! :D

1971/72 Yes on VH1 Classic

Postby RYG on Fri Mar 23, 2007 7:28 pm

While flipping through the channels last night I stumbled on a nice little 1/2 hour show called "BBC Crown Jewels" on the VH1 Classic channel which featured Yes from 1971/72 performing a few songs live intermingled with interviews of the band members from that same period. Of course, there was Bill Bruford just prior to becoming a member of KC playing and being interviewed. Even though the show was only a half hour it really was a nice little insight to Yes at that time. I had never before seen any live footage of them from that era so it was nice to see some of the songs from "Fragile" played live. I don't know for sure, but the show "BBC Crown Jewels" appears to be a series of shows.

Immediately following the show, I started wondering if there is any KC footage from 1969. On the "Epitaph" boxed set there are, I believe, four tracks that were recorded at ther BBC. What a find that would be, huh?
My favorite movies (right now):
"Lost In Translation", "Mulholland Drive", "Pulp Fiction", "Sin City", "Buffalo '66", "Ghost World", "Apocolypse Now (Redux)", "Donnie Darko", "Raising Arizona", "Shawshank Redemption"

At last, someone who wants to talk about music! Not heard of that show, RYG, nor seen the footage. As for BBC KC, most of those old tapes back in the 1960s got wiped. Many different shows got lost, not just music shows, but who knows. Copies were often made and sent out to Commonwealth countries. Many of these "lost tapes" have turned up in exotic locations such as Australia and New Zealand. So you never know what might turn up!
