What Is Progressive Rock, to You?

Postby Indyrod on Sat Sep 07, 2013 4:08 pm

I just watched our host's new video review, this time tackling the subject of this thread. Darren gives his opinions very forcefully, but I disagree on several points, which I'll post later. but for now, just think of your own definition of Progressive Rock, and if you agree with Darren's viewpoint.

interesting... it appears Progressive Rock, doesn't mean much to anybody, as far as the question posed. I kind of agree, it's like, why do I like tuna? I don't know, I just do.

It wasn't fear, it's more not being arsed with Youtube.

It's just a label.... and the primary idea is about music that'll appeal to people who don't care so much about labels anyway. Who cares what it's called?

S'okay, I won't take it personally.

I've got nothing against either one, I just never (well, rarely) have the time to watch videos. It seems like such a waste to spend fifteen minutes on something that could be read in text in one or two.

good idea, maybe Darren could just write His reviews, and We wouldn't have to sit through Darren's roadshow.

Yeah, I feel the same way about videos. I can read text faster, and do it while I'm doing something else. I don't know where some of my friends find the time to watch all the videos they're constantly forwarding to me. And I don't give a shit about the label "progressive rock." So it's nothing against Darren personally; I just don't care enough to argue about it.
