Dear Friends,
We begin with a wish for a joyous 2015 for all. May your year be filled with marvelous music and all other good things. We have not sent a longer Musings in some time, so we will jump right in with both feet, and encourage you to fearlessly read on!
Fripp....the SISTER
What better way to begin the year than with news, directly from the ever-dazzling Patricia Fripp??
Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with Robert Fripp? Would you like to hear him tell his stories about having Jimi Hendrix say, “Shake me by the left hand, man; it is closer to my heart”?
Or how it felt to play in Hyde Park to 750,000 with the Rolling Stones?
Or what happened after the call from David Bowie saying, “Can you fly to Berlin and play some hairy rock and roll?” That led to the album of a generation, Heroes.
And so much more.
You may not be aware that Robert is as great a public speaker as he is a guitarist. Along with his sister, Hall of Fame Keynote Speaker Patricia Fripp, Robert speaks at Lady and the Champs Speakers’ Conference in Las Vegas, February 28-March 1. Robert Fripp fans can watch streaming live from anywhere in the world.
You can hear Robert Fripp’s presentations called “From Beginner to Mastery: The Disciplines and Habits of Success” and “How to Be a Hero for More Than One Day.”
Robert will also be part of panels and group discussions.
After the conference, your registration includes replay of all the Robert Fripp presentations you viewed live and a couple more recorded that are not streamed live.
Check it out, and register NOW.

Are you interested in accelerating your career by improving your presentation skills?
If so, why not check out the whole conference agenda which you can attend live or stream live.
Conference Schedule
Any questions? Email Fripp the Sister (Patricia Fripp) at pfripp@fripp.com and use “Streaming Robert” in the subject line.
In Case You Have Not Heard...
An absolutely incredible release, shipping mid January.

King Crimson - Live At The Orpheum (CD/DVD-A)
No Shirts, No Shoes, No Service?
In case you have ever been turned away from your favorite restaurant for lack of proper attire, you best purchase some King Crimson shirts which are sure to be accepted everywhere. All designs, excluding tour merch, are offered this month at a 10% discount. Purchase four, and you will receive a free white mug featuring the Discipline logo. That way, even if you are turned away from your favorite eatery, by a cruel, music-hating Grinch, you can at least ask them to fill your mug with water. It really is a win-win. We now carry the vintage In The Court shirt in a new color.

Crimson Art, Your Way
Frank Sinatra did it his way, and you can too, whilst sprucing up your home décor along the way. You can customize a blanket with artwork of your choice from any King Crimson or Robert Fripp solo album we carry. Our customizable blanket is offered at a 10% discount this month.

Previous Contests
Congratulations to Timothy Hoda who connected Robert Fripp to Stan Getz in TWO steps. Timothy wins either a KCCC disc or KC t-shirt of his choice for recognizing that both King Crimson and Stan Getz performed live, at different times, on the David Letterman Show, and thus both performed live with Sid McGinnis. Runner up Rich Schilder, who actually provided a spreadsheet full of solutions (how is that for dedication?), also connected the two incredible musicians in two steps, through Steve Foreman (Children of the World and Along The Red Ledge). Numerous three step solutions abound as well. Thank you to all who contributed.
As for the acronym contest, which we felt was quite difficult, we are once again impressed by your level of talent. We will be sending a coupon to all who entered, but we narrowed the winners to two. Both not only used the initials of the seven members in the latest incarnation of the band, but were able to do so in Crimson context. Both Phil LaRose and Tony Isch win for the following entries: The Lads Reunite For More Crimsoning - Good Hearted, Bouncing Rock, Jarring Jazz, Prog Mastery (LaRose) and Relax friends, Mighty Crimson Beast returns playing music - joyous jams, terrorizing licks, ghostly haunts!(Isch)
New Contest
For a variation on our DOS series, connect a member of the 7 piece Crimson to one in a previous version, in a creative way, not using Robert Fripp in the solution. One winner will be chosen from our favorites, and will win a free t-shirt or KCCC disc. For this round, number of steps is not relevant...we just want to see some interesting connections. Please send solutions, with subject header DOS, to mailorder@dgmlive.com.
Freebies
Each order received until the end of the month will receive a free King Crimson magnet. All orders received to date, and throughout January, for the Orpheum disc, will receive a free Islands coaster.
Enjoy the music,
The DGM Shop/Inner Knot Team

Dear Friends,
For many of you, March has come in like a lion so here's hoping it goes out like a lamb. We aim to bring more news nearer the ides of March, but wanted to advise you now that we have added a new t-shirt to the mix, a limited supply of the latest deluxe Steven Wilson box and have results of the latest contest. We presume you are reading this as you sip from one of your favorite KC pint glasses, so we simply ask that you take care not to spill your beverage on the awesome King Crimson shirt you are invariably wearing.
Three Of A Perfect...Trio?
Something about the design and color of Beat, Three of a Perfect Pair and Discipline have always, in our minds at least, begged to share the front of a tee. The covers look especially bold against the black background of the shirt, making this the perfect way to get in touch with your 80's Crimson.

T-Shirt - KC in the 80's
The Long Of It
We continue to add long sleeve versions of our host of KC shirts, and are happy to announce that all Islands fans can now have a long sleeve version to wear when your short sleeve one is at the cleaners. (And, no, the shirts do not really require dry cleaning!).

T-Shirt - Islands (Black Long Sleeve)
We are not even going to attempt....
a witty subject header because we know these very limited editions will be gone before we have a chance to blink.

Steven Wilson - Hand. Cannot. Erase (Limited Deluxe Box Set - 2CD/DVD/Blu-Ray)
DOS
In our departure from the standard DOS quiz, we asked you to connect a current member of the 7 piece Crimson to a former member, without using RF. Number of steps did not matter. We just were looking for originality. Well, you are all definitely original! We received so many different solutions that we cannot even begin to highlight the many different options. We did choose one winner, however, who veered away from the Crimson camp in his solution (many of you did, but we had to choose just one!). Congratulations to Charlie Koci who submitted the following solution and will be soon receiving his prize:
Gavin Harrison: Dave Stewart: Mick Jagger: Jeff Beck: Carmine Appice: Ozzy Osbourne: Cozy Powell: ELP: Greg Lake.
For our new DOS, you first should be seated as it may appear more complicated than it actually is. You have until the end of March to send to mailorder@dgmlive.com, with subject header DOS, your solution connecting any artist from a Fripp release (that is not a KC release) to another artist from a Fripp (non KC) release via any country singer. (For instance, connect Andy Summers to Daryl Hall via Willie Nelson.) We know this may be confusing, but you have gotten too good at the standard DOS contests and we need to make you really use those "little grey cells". You can insert as many artists in the middle as needed, and one winner will be chosen at random from those who did so in the fewest number of steps. The winner will receive a t-shirt or club disc of their choice. Good luck, and, most importantly, have fun! This is optional after all.

Dear Friends,
We hoped to be back with a brief newsletter near the Ides of March, and managed to do so! Shocking, we know. A quick note for your weekend to inform you that we have added several t-shirt, sweatshirt and jacket designs to our Last Call category. Most are offered at more than a 50% discount. Some are designs that we no longer will carry, such as the #KC2014 shirt (which is also available in a Ladies style in two colors), and some are being revamped. For instance, we have requests for different versions of In The Wake, in different colors and with the design on front, but we have not been able to order as we have stock remaining of the two sided version. So, order your two sided version now while it is available. The knot windbreaker is a great deal in particular. We also have 3XL and 4XL available in the various designs.

Last Call
We wish you all a great weekend,
The DGM Shop/Inner Knot Team
P.S. And still hope that you continue to enjoy the music, despite this being a merch-centric update!

Dear Friends,
Remember the months when we tell you that we are sending a brief update? Well, this is not one of those months. So, if you are in the middle of a project, best to put this aside and read when you are able to give full attention, or at least a good 2-3 minutes. Actually, you are all good multi-taskers and can probably read this whilst completing another project, so continue organizing that sock drawer and read along.
Rain, Rain...Don't Go Away
We have long wanted to add an umbrella to the mix, but were not happy with any of the samples made whereby the image repeated in each panel. We waited until we found a vendor who was able to print one image over the entire dome of the umbrella and we are thrilled with the sample we received. We know that opinions will vary as to whether it is best to have the image on the outside of the umbrella, where all can see you and the screaming face from miles away, or for the fun subtle approach where the face only appears when the umbrella is opened. Thus, we offer two versions. For those such as ourselves, living in a dry climate, remember that an umbrella can also offer shade from the sun.

Schizoid - Umbrella
Play Ball
Based on the popularity of the Schizoid hockey jersey, we are in the process of designing a baseball jersey. In the meantime, we have added a version of Larks' on a softball jersey, perfect to wear...well, anywhere actually, except perhaps to a wedding (unless, of course, it is one of the popular Crimson-themed weddings). We also now offer the vintage style Larks' tee on a heather grey shirt.

Softball Style Tee - Larks' Tongue In Aspic (Yellow)
T-Shirt - Larks' Tongue In Aspic (Vintage Distressed)
Record Store Day
If you did not already have plans to spend this Saturday at your local record store, you will want to be sure to make time to browse. DGM is offering a vinyl release from Camilla's Little Secret, with the following description.
"How often does someone stumble in the attic upon 500 pristine copies of just about the coolest piece of vinyl on the planet. This is not just any disc. This find, by the music producer. The Vicar’s assistant Punk Sanderson, is the famous record that can “vary each time you play it”- “variofonics”, as The Vicar called it. Trust us. There’s a phone that rings half way through the song – sometimes it gets answered and you hear a voice, sometimes you just get a guitar solo. How does it do that?! And talking about the telephone – this isn’t just a reference to any telephone call. This is a reference to some fairly explicit phone calls between Prince Charles of Great Britain and his then mistress, Camilla Parker Bowles, while he was still married to Princess Diana. Why do you think the band is called “Camilla’s Little Secret." There are rumours that the band never made another recording as they were all imprisoned for treason. Maybe that’s why no-one knows who The Vicar is. Grab it while you can. Maybe that's why the guitarist with the so-recognisable tone masquerades under the name of Bobby Willcox and The Vicar is so keen to keep his identity a secret."
David Speaks
For those in the San Jose, CA area, we are excited to present an engagement at Streetlight Records. Label manager and record producer, David Singleton (and these are just two of numerous accolades we could assign to him) will be speaking about his role within the KC family, with a Q&A portion as well. For those Facebook friendly readers, please visit this link and let us know if you are able to attend. If you are not on Facebook and would like to go, please send an email to mailorder@dgmlive.com with subject header Streetlight so we can track numbers of attendees.

The Power To Believe
We are thrilled to be working with Streetlight for this event and also wanted to highlight what both the Santa Cruz and San Jose stores will be doing on RSD 2015.
Streetlight Santa Cruz
Streetlight San Jose
We look forward to seeing you in San Jose. Do you know the way? (you know we HAD to go there!)
Schizoid Social
We wanted to keep David busy whilst in California and realized this is the perfect opportunity to launch our first ever Schizoid Social. The idea of the Schizoid Social is to periodically meet in different parts of the country, or world for that matter, and allow like-minded KC fans to meet. They will not always be attended by someone from the DGM camp, but we wanted to begin with a bang and are thrilled to have David on board for this inaugural event. Drinks and snacks will be served, and merchandise will be available including some exclusive Schizoid-social items.
The social will be held Tuesday, April 28th from 7:00-9:30pm at Next Door Hollywood, located at 1154 Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038.
RSVP to mailorder@dgmlive.com with subject header Social to receive your password to enter the Speakeasy style lounge, and to put your name on our guest list.
We are open to the idea of holding other Schizoid Socials this month in California, Oregon and Washington so please let us know if you are interested. If enough demand exists, we can book some more dates.
DOS
In a departure from our usual DOS contest, we recently asked you to connect someone who worked on a non-KC album with Robert and connect them via a country performer. Kudos to all who were able to do so, and congratulations to Bob Ross who connected Tony Levin (from Exposure, NOT a KC release) to T-Bone Burnett to Willie Nelson to Daryl Hall (back to Exposure again!).
For our new DOS contest, please connect any member of any line-up of KC to Judy Collins. We have not done the research but are sure with so many combinations there have to be some one step solutions. Please send your solution, with subject header DOS, to mailorder@dgmlive.com by the end of April. One winner will be chosen at random from all entries with lowest amount of connections, and will receive a free umbrella.
As promised, lots of information to digest. And if you were really able to read this in 2-3 minutes, bravo!
As always, enjoy the music, and the events
